My hair is long now!
Long enough to make braids at least.
My mum always wanted to make these at me when I was a teenager and I hated it, I thought I looked so geeky. Mum is coming here next week and is thrilled about being able to braid my hair again.
Update: Here is a tutorial I found, I hope it's helpful (my only tip is to do it without looking in a mirror, but I guess some practise on someone else is best to start with).

This looks great! It's so different from your regular lovely hairstyle; you can really change your look with just a simple braid. Terrific!
ReplyDeletedas sieht wirklich sehr hübsch aus! überhaupt nicht geeky...
ReplyDeleteliebe grüße aus weimar.
the hairstyle is I love to do to my daughter
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't braid my hair often enough!

Oh I love it! I always wanted to do that and have never succeeded! You looked so pretty. (Yey for geeky-ness :) xm
ReplyDeletei was in the same situation: my mum wanted to braid my hair when i was a kid - i hated it! now i really like it, too :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this, the braid, the color. You look young and fresh, I don't 'get' the geeky thing. Besides, nothing wrong with a young fresh geek.
ReplyDeleteMost fetching

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tutorial, Sandra. I love braiding my hair.
ReplyDeleteHehe what a cute post. Made me smile. My mum loved my long hair too, she was heartbreaked when i cut them short! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely! I'd like to French braid my hair, but it's so damn slick it is hard. And then it just doesn't keep unless I throw tons of hairspray on it (and not even then). So I just keep admiring those who can have braids like this... :)
ReplyDeleteoh sandra it looks amazing. i dreamed of braids my whole life and used to wear a winter hat with long strings (that tied) around the house all year round, so i could "pretend" i had braids. this is just lovely. my hair is so fine it doesn't do well to stay up in anything it seems.
ReplyDeleteWow, so pretty! It looks hard to do?? I just wanted to write a quick comment and send some love from South Korea. I'm an ex-pat from the U.S. living and teaching here and I simply LOVE following your blog. Your photos are an inspiration. Thank you Sandra!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty!
ReplyDelete...♡ !
ReplyDeleteIt's great!! Thanks for the tutorial! Hugs from Barcelona
ReplyDeletemycket fint.
ReplyDeleteHej snyggo :)
ReplyDeleteSå vakkert. Skulle ønske jeg hadde så langt og fint hår. Ha en fin påske :)
ReplyDeleteI love French braids! You know when I was a teenager (in the 80s) these were becoming really trendy and I was the only one in my school who could do it so I had all the snobby cheerleaders and popular girls being all nice to me in hopes I would do their hair. I did it...but looking back I wish I didn't. They were bitches and I was a nerd. My braids were too good for them LOL x
ReplyDeletegorgeous! making me wish i had long hair now : )
ReplyDeletecute style )o(
ReplyDeleteI always wanted my mum to make me braids, but she didn't do it :(
ReplyDeleteSo it was the opposite around.
Yours looks beautiful!
Your hair is lovely. It's woven.
ReplyDeleteI used to love combing and brushing my daughter's hair. It was therapeutic for both of us. I hope you and your mom have at least one braiding session while she visits. :D
well done! it's time for me to start making braids as well ;)
ReplyDeleteEinen schoenen Tag!
vad fint! mitt hår är också så långt nu å jag flätar det mest hela tiden, det är ett mjukare sätt att få bort det än svans. att inte titta i spegeln är det enklaste sättet:)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet!
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful braid!!!
ReplyDeleteIch schreib jetzt auf deutsch, denn das kannst du ja jetzt! :-)
ReplyDeleteSieht sehr schön aus und was mir auch super gefällt: das ist deine Naturhaarfarbe, oder? Die ist toll.
