Summer in Berlin

They say it's Spring, but with +24°C it is Summer for a Swede. Especially when the sun has given me a face in the colour red. It's a strange feeling when it feels like Summer when you close your eyes, and when you open them there are hardly any leaves on the trees.

The first picture is from this morning at 8am, people were still standing in line to Berghain and I was ready for a 6 hours walk through the city.

Loved reading your stories about what you love about your homes on the post yesterday. Thank you! Here are some of the things I love about my new home: High ceilings, a balcony facing east, all the traffic below, that I can fix it up as I want, wooden floors, huge double doors, a long long hallway (11 meters long...) making it feel like an old school corridor, the location, the nice neighbours, the view of the TV-tower, that there are no radiators etc :)

  7. Funny, isn't it? It's the same for me as a German having grown up in Sweden - I can hardly believe it's that warm in March already, but, well, I can get used to it :)

  8. Last year we have a 30C day in April (in Montreal). It was so weird - barely a bud on the trees yet it felt just like summer.

Well enjoy it while it's here!

alltså man har ju hört talas om ett par timmars tidsskillnad men har du kollat ordentligt i alamackan? --- vadå, är det typ två månaders tidsdifferens mellan sweden och börlin? fan också. gott nytt år i november!?

  16. It definitely felt like summer yesterday. So lovely. I love it when the city seems to wake up and everyone is out on the street eating ice cream.

Fun fact: I was inside Berghain, when you took that picture of the queue. We went there around 7 and it felt really weird entering the club on such a warm and sunny morning. It was like a very different world in there. I did not last very long, though and exchanged the club for a sunny park very quickly.

  17. Hi Sandra,
My husband and I are moving from Berlin to Gothenburg this summer, to take a university job there. I am getting excited about our move by looking at your cool photos of Gothenburg! I hope we will love it there, too. :)

Under slutet av våren ska jag bo lite i Berlin. Skulle jag springa på dig på stan kommer jag definitivt ta mod till mig och säga hej. :)
