  10. Wonderful- the fog and low light made everything feel so secretive and mysterious... I was thinking of a book I read a few years ago (I can't remember the title which is now driving me crazy!)

    Your blog is such a visual treat - you make me want to move to Berlin for awhile!

  14. your beautiful walks remind me very much of this poem by Rainer Maria Rilke:

    "Herr: es ist Zeit. Der Sommer war sehr groß.
    Leg deinen Schatten auf die Sonnenuhren,
    und auf den Fluren laß die Winde los.

    Befiehl den letzten Früchten voll zu sein;
    gieb ihnen noch zwei südlichere Tage,
    dränge sie zur Vollendung hin und jage
    die letzte Süße in den schweren Wein.

    Wer jetzt kein Haus hat, baut sich keines mehr.
    Wer jetzt allein ist, wird es lange bleiben,
    wird wachen, lesen, lange Briefe schreiben
    und wird in den Alleen hin und her
    unruhig wandern, wenn die Blätter treiben."

    Hi Sandra, I found your blog via Holly Beckers Blogs and the funny thing about it is that I was in a short trip to Berlin just a week ago and discovered this strange / impressive / Stalins dream-like Karl-Marx-Allee near our hostel. It left us speechless. How happy we can be the time for military parades are over for WHOLE Berlin. Looking forward for further photos from wherever you are!
