Paris, a Friday walk towards the view

Started Friday morning with coffee at The Broken Arm which was so so good. Loved everything about that place - it opens already at 9 in the morning, the interior and light are amazing, the coffee is great and the fact that there is so much green indoors, mmm.

Friday was the day Johan and I walked the longest, over 25 kilometers. We didn't use any other kind of transportation except train from/to the airport.

The streets were still pretty empty, that's what I really love about getting up early in big cities.

Hi, hi!

It was time to check out the view over Paris from Sacré-Cœur.

Passed by a yarn shop.

Walked long stairs.

Met a cute cat that I wanted to kidnap.

And BANG! the view.

  1. Oh! You were close to where i work (The Broken Arm) I hope you checked "Le Marché des Enfants Rouges" close by, as well as la boulangerie "Poîlane" (and got yourself a decent miche of french braid). Can't wait to see more of your aventure. - Morgane

I haven't been to Paris yet but it's on my wish list of places to visit since I was a teenager. I hope to go there someday soon. :)

  3. I know exactly what you mean - I also love getting up early in big cities! The city has such a different feel when the streets aren't crowded and most shops are still closed.

    Lovely photos!

  14. I don't know why, but I was almost expecting it when I started watching your series of pictures from Paris, and there it is, at the end of this post: the yarn shop that was right across the street from where I lived, and on the next picture a glimpse of the windows of our ex-appartment, from where I took so many pictures throughout the years! Also, I admit I sighed a little when seeing the croissants and bread: really good bread is what I miss the most since I moved to the USA. :)

  18. two years ago we spent christmas in Paris. it was so silent, so calm, streets so empty, it was great. I also like this thing; empty streets early in the morning i a big city.
Ah, pity Helsinki is so far from Paris. Otherwise i would visit there more often;)
