Yesterday Nordic by Nature organized a Nordic Midsummer Festival at Urban Spree (they also made an interview with me recently, you can read it here). Of course we were there to enjoy the atmosphere and good food.
We started with the Caramelized kimchi with cheese from Fräulein Kimchi, so tasty.
Then straight over to House of the Flying Dumplings.
OMG. YOLO. NOM NOM. LOL.
And beer of course.
Johan telling Patric something dirty.
Patric has been away for some months working on Dachau // Prozesse so we had a lot of catching up to do.
And the obligatory phallus, the maypole, was the last thing my camera caught before it was completely dark outside. What a great night!
On our wedding day, 5 years ago, we did what we both love the most - we walked around Berlin to drink and eat at different places.
Tequila at Kaufbar after our ceremony.
Then lunch at Schneeweiss.
And a cupcake at... Cupcake.
Coffee cheers at Bonanza Coffee Heroes.
Cheers from Wohnzimmer!
Let's go somewhere fancy for our wedding dinner! Why? I don't know, fuck it! Let's go to Gorki Park, I'm hungry!
I grew up in a home with very few books and I remember visiting my friend Maria's home I was so inspired by her parents having a bookshelf with actual books in it and not porcelain figurines.
During winter I sleep wearing Wrist Worms, it's important to keep the wrists warm during night when I crochet all day long.
When I was 13 I started to buy my own books. The porcelain elephant was a gift from Johan on my birthday last year. Of course I still need some porcelain figurines in my life.
I made this lunch the other day, it was hard to take an appetizing picture though, but I assure you it was delicious.
You need (for 2 persons):
Rigatoni Napoletani or any other pasta you prefer.
1.5 tbsp olive oil
1.5 tbsp butter
14-20 cherry tomatoes
chili (fresh or dried)
2 garlic cloves
Parmesan cheese (I didn't have any at home, so I used 50 grams of this amazing creamy French cheese, highly recommended too)
salt & pepper
I did like this:
Boil the pasta al dente (follow instruction on package).
Heat up oil in a pan and fry the cherry tomatoes until juice starts to mix with the oil. Chop the garlic cloves in small pieces and let them simmer around in the pan with the other stuff (do NOT burn), add sage, chili and butter as well. When pasta is finished, pour it down in the sauce and add salt & pepper. Serve everything on your favourite plates and add cheese of choice on top. If you have some fresh herbs, add them on top of everything to make it more beautiful :) Eat!
Christmas eve; me, Johan and a tree. And a Swedish Christmas Smörgåsbord for 2.
We "celebrated" just the two of us on Christmas eve after spending the whole day having brunch at our friends' place. On Christmas day we had dinner with friends and later on Johan was DJ'ing in a bar and we danced all night long.
Bite Club is arranging a christmas market at Urban Spree this weekend. I was there yesterday and will probably go back tonight to have Käsespätzle from Heisser Hobel as my birthday dinner before celebrating with my friends.
I'm 35 today, yay!
Camilla spent an amazing week with me and Johan.
We've been out walking a lot.
Having coffee and visiting a couple of exhibitions.
Oysters and champagne before going out for dinner with Johan.
Most of our nights we spent in different bars and around the kitchen table until early in the mornings talking talking and talking.
Giving ourselves deeper voices.
It's been such great days! Come back soon, Camilla!
The other day Johan and I had lunch at Cocolo Ramen in Kreuzberg (yes, they have a restaurant there as well, not only in Mitte, great!). I really like the interior and the food is really good as well (we didn't have the famous ramen this time though).
I am visiting my family in Sweden right now and hope to be back with some wintery photos next week, happy weekend all!
Down in the Schönlein subway station there is a hidden treasure - an onigiri stand, Rice Up. I have one for breakfast every now and then on my morning walks.
I can also recommend the Orientalisches Fladenbrot in the first picture, especially the bread with cheese. Yum!
