Sunday at home

Untitled
Got up very late today, the bed was so inviting that I stayed in it until noon.

Untitled
Fixed some lamps over the kitchen table and then made brunch. Sauerkraut is my best friend. Topping it with feta cheese is yummy.

Untitled
Haven't put up any decorations yet. Time flies.

Untitled
When did my grandmother move in?

Untitled
Look, there is her perfume - Poison. I always loved the scent of snus in this perfume.

Now it's time to work. Next week I will host a very very nice giveaway, hope you will like it!

Monday

Untitled
Hello from my kitchen!
Arounna from Bookhou sent me two gorgeous pouches, I love them. We have been following eachother online for so many years, I love the internet for bringing good people together :)

How was your weekend?
Mine was great, spent a lot of time at home, finishing Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas which my sister told me to finally read. It was OK, I have serious problems finding books great after reading The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt), it's a masterpiece.

Swedish food

Untitled
Kalles Kaviar, smoked fish roe spread, amazing with eggs. A funny clip about Kalles.

Untitled
Dried reindeer, my mum gave me a piece for my birthday.

Untitled
Cloudberry jam, berries picked by my dad.

Untitled
Goes so well with porridge. Dad has given me another even more luxorious jam made of arctic raspberries, such an intense amazing taste.

Weekend soon! x

Pumpkin soup season (with recipe)

I had never done anything with pumpkin before, so last weekend it was time to do so! Johan was sick and what could be better than a soup?

Pumpkin Coconut Soup (serves 4)

You need:
1.3 kilos pumpkin (I used hokkaido)
1 liter water (with a suitable amount of vegetable bouillon powder)
2 onions (chopped)
3-4 garlic cloves (chopped)
butter/oil to fry onions and garlic cloves
as much fresh chili as you like
400 ml coconut milk
juice from 1 pressed lime
fresh coriander/cilantro
salt & pepper

I did like this:
Peel the pumpkin (not necessary if it's hokkaido pumpkin), remove the stuff inside (the thready stuff and the seeds), chop it into cubes, approx 2x2cm. Fry the onions and garlic cloves in the butter/oil until softened - don't let them get burned. Pour water over the onions and garlic cloves and add the bouillon powder. Let it boil. Put in the pumpkin cubes and the chili and let it boil for approximately 10 mins, or until the pumpkin is soft. Mix it all with a mixer (add fresh coriander/cilantro before mixing if you want). Add salt, pepper, coconut milk and the lime juice. Heat it up and serve in bowls. Top with fresh coriander/cilantro. Enjoy!

In my kitchen

The painting above the dining table already lived in our flat when we moved in. It's painted in 1944 - no signs of the war, a dream of peace.

In my kitchen

Today I made the most simple lunch and it was so so good. Thought I'd share the recipe (though I believe the picture already says it all):

Asparagus with fried eggs
Take as much green asparagus as you want, I took 7. Fry them in butter and give them lots of salt. Put them on a plate.
Fry 2 eggs (I prefer my yolk very loose). Give them salt and black pepper. Put them on top of the asparagus.
Add some tomatoes.

I had planned to add white truffle oil, which I think would've been a good combo, but I forgot (too hungry).
Or maybe parmesan cheese could be nice.
Or coriander/cilantro.

This portion will for sure keep me full for hours. Yum!

New in the house

This yellow lamp moved into the kitchen a while ago.

Tickets to Depeche Mode next year, so excited!

Some weeks ago I came home to a new reading corner in the kitchen.

The latest issue of Frankie Magazine has an amazing cover...

...and a photo by me on the inside.

In the latest issue of Femina I am talking a bit about a book I really like.

You've seen this before, but this time it has grown a bit.

Good to know: I ship Wrist Worms every day until Xmas :)

Happy birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Jakob's 30th birthday in arrears. Johan gave him a pizza night and I gave him a pair of Wrist Worms.

Advent

- Johan, we should get ourselves an advent candlestick!
- Sandra, look this candlestick has 4 candles, let's use it as an advent candlestick!
(See more traditional ones, as well as others, here)

My husband and I haven't got much Christmas decorations, we have just recently started to collect them. Johan grew up not celebrating Christmas and I left almost all my decorations with my ex. Lizette the cat says she can be a Christmas cat and demands a red bow.

Read more about how Swedes celebrate Advent and other feasts here. Happy 1st of Advent!

& speaking of Christmas, don't forget the Special Christmas Offer in my shop (Buy 1 print - Get 1 print extra for free)!

A surprise

I'm busy signing prints, packing orders and writing addresses on envelopes (huge thanks to all of you who've placed an order on my Special Christmas offer and other things from my shop!). The only things I've taken pictures of are the dishes and a lunch plate. AND today I got a surprise in the mail - a wonderful sweet gift - the little Berlin notebook. I don't know who it is from, but I'm jumping of joy and I'm so curious of who the kind person is. Thank you thank you thank you!

Update: The kindest person in the world and the person who sent me the surprise is Nina, VIELEN DANK ♥

Good morning

Hi!
This morning is so good, it's frosty and sunny and cold.

Thank you for your comments about my Wrist Worms yesterday. It must have been pretty annoying for other artists when Malevich got so much attention for his Black Square in 1913, because it's "so simple". It would've looked ridiculous if someone tried to copy it and make a living from it. It's the same with the Wrist Worms I'd say, they are "so simple" yet they are my creation and design and I am very proud of them. Just because it's easy to copy, it's not right. They've been here for almost 3 years and I am so happy there are so many people in the world wearing them. I must have made somewhere between 400-500 pairs so far and they are an important part of how I make my living.
