What you see is what you get

Untitled

Keeping it simple. It's exactly what you see (WYSIWYG, a term that reminds me of when i started writing HTML in 1998, which means I've been blogging for almost 19 years now); cucumber, tomato, basil, mozzarella, red onion, olive oil, salt & black pepper.

Been living without a fridge for almost 3 weeks now, I have learned a lot about what kind of groceries you can store in room temperature. Had no idea butter lasted for over a week like this, for example. Looking forward to being able to keep things cool again, though.

What are you up to this weekend?
I'm up to a lot of things and what I really look forward to is to finish watching the latest season of Orange is the new Black, it's soooo good!

My favourite dish at the moment (with recipe)

I made this yesterday and it was so delicious that I made it again today. And when I had scooped up food on the plate I thought Maybe I should blog about this, so here is a kind-of-recipe:

No Name Lunch (the batch I made is enough for 2 people)

Cook your favourite rice, I had thai jasmine at home.

While cooking the rice, do this:
Chop white cabbage
Chop leek
Fry in a pan with some neutral oil.

While frying, do this:
Chop garlic (2-3 cloves)
Grind ginger (thumb sice)
Put in a bowl together with:
1-2 teaspoons of honey
1 deciliter of soy (I use Yamasa, my favourite)
Chili flakes
& stir it to a sauce.

Pour the sauce into the pan with the cabbage and leek. Pour some water in as well, I think I ended up pouring about 2 deciliters. Throw in some seaweed and let everything simmer until the rice is ready.

Put everything on a plate and sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds and spring onions wherever you want it. If you want some extra spiciness, put some sambal oelek on the side (the red thing).

EAT!
By the way, it's vegan.

(I imagine it goes very well with tofu or salmon or beef or chicken and so on, too)

Quick, super simple & tasty lunch x2

Untitled

Untitled

I spend very little time on preparing my lunches. Sometimes no time at all, because I have leftovers from the night before. Night time, on the other hand, I put much more effort into my cooking.

Above are two super simple lunches.
Number 1: Lamb's lettuce with red onion, cucumber, feta cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, salt & black pepper.
Number 2: Scrambled eggs with blue cheese, kalamata olives & parsley.

Fusilli with salsiccia, so delicious and rich.

I like their attitude!

Looking forward to summer evenings there, sharing a platter of antipasti and some wine to go with it.

My favourite lunch at the moment (including recipe)

My current lunch addiction (and you know I like simple lunches, so here is a simple recipe for you):

Romaine lettuce with feta cheese, tomato and an egg

You need:
1 romaine lettuce head
1 piece of garlic (chopped)
Fresh lemon juice
Butter (or olive oil if you prefer that)
Feta cheese (as much as you like)
1 tomato
1 egg
Salt & Pepper

Do like this:
Boil a pot of water (salted) and heat up a pan. Slice off the bottom of the romaine lettuce. Let the lettuce boil for 20-30 seconds, pick it up and let the water rinse off. Put some butter (or oil) in the hot pan and let the lettuce fry for 20-30 seconds (add salt & pepper, garlic and lemon juice). Place the lettuce on a plate and sprinkle feta cheese on it. Fry the egg and the tomato (sliced in 2 halfs). Add salt & pepper. Place it all on the plate and enjoy!

Sunday, we walked around slowly and ended up at a corner having quiche and club sandwich for lunch. I have so many more Paris pictures to share :)

Lunch date

BANG! Summer arrived!
Have had lunch in the sun with Johan, laughing and eating (I had a mixed salad with mozzarella and he had a spinach salad with mushrooms, parmesan and bacon). Afterwards we took a walk.

Didn't bring my camera out this weekend (I thought it was broken, but this morning I fixed it - yay!), so I present it with some words: Parties, Sun, Friends, Halloumi im Brot, Disco, Champagne, Market, Coffee, Balcony, Sushi, Book, Hangover Light, Fun and so on.

Happy new week!

In my kitchen

Today I made the most simple lunch and it was so so good. Thought I'd share the recipe (though I believe the picture already says it all):

Asparagus with fried eggs
Take as much green asparagus as you want, I took 7. Fry them in butter and give them lots of salt. Put them on a plate.
Fry 2 eggs (I prefer my yolk very loose). Give them salt and black pepper. Put them on top of the asparagus.
Add some tomatoes.

I had planned to add white truffle oil, which I think would've been a good combo, but I forgot (too hungry).
Or maybe parmesan cheese could be nice.
Or coriander/cilantro.

This portion will for sure keep me full for hours. Yum!

How I spent this morning

<

I started my day walking, taking lots of pictures (as you might notice) and doing some crochet work at a café. Trying to catch as much light as I can, don't mind working until late in the evening right now. Wish you all a really good weekend!
