Zug der Liebe

Yesterday the police started to block the streets from traffic.


It was time for Zug der Liebe, a huge street rave (around 17 000 people were dancing below my balcony) for love, freedom of speech, against fake news. Among other things. And for the love of techno! Berlin loves techno, so do I.


15 different trucks were playing super loud amazing music and people were dancing, no one cared about the showers of rain.


Johan and I were dancing on the balcony as well.


Great to see so much happy people.

And then BSR cleaned up the streets and as soon as the music from the trucks had disappeared, it looked like nothing had happened, but on the inside we were all carrying a techno party.

Commonground Opening Party

My friends James & Morgan (Silo) have opened a new café/bar in Mitte, Commonground. Last night was the opening party and I had the pleasure of sipping on the amazing Made in Cuba Welcome Drink and some beers surrounded by good friends. Not only do they serve great drinks - they open early in the morning serving delicious breakfast and also cups of amazing coffee, continuing until late night. I'm moving in.

Midsommar Festival

Yesterday Nordic by Nature organized a Nordic Midsummer Festival at Urban Spree (they also made an interview with me recently, you can read it here). Of course we were there to enjoy the atmosphere and good food.


We started with the Caramelized kimchi with cheese from Fräulein Kimchi, so tasty.




Then straight over to House of the Flying Dumplings.

And beer of course.

Patric has been away for some months working on Dachau // Prozesse so we had a lot of catching up to do.


And the obligatory phallus, the maypole, was the last thing my camera caught before it was completely dark outside. What a great night!

Upgraded bathroom

So, today is a happy day for me and Johan. Last September we gave up showering at home because the coal heater wasn't working properly (2 seconds of cold water, 2 seconds of boiling water). So from September until today we have been going to a gym just to shower. The swimmingpool picture is from a great party last month.


Many many phone calls later during many many months, a guy finally came over and as a happy surprise he torn out the bathtub (beautiful, golden, but impossible to get clean). You can see pictures from when we took over the place here, so you get a picture of what a mess the place was :)


We both stayed at home to work and of course eat while the guy was installing the electric (!) boiler and new bathtub.


While writing this blog post I'm waiting for the water to be hot enough to take my first shower in almost a year at home! Maybe you can imagine the happy dog Sandra jumping around in circles tearing down things with her tail.

Turning 30

Last week Johan turned 30 and we threw a party on Saturday for a bunch of our friends and family members. Wish I could share the atmosphere of the bathroom in pictures, but it's impossible. It was like being in a cathedral with lots of flowers, liquor, music by the wonderful Arvo Pärt, candles and toilet paper.

Yesterday I went to visit my family, get some proper winter and eat semla (hadn't had one for THREE years and it is my favourite pastry!), kebabpizza, pizzasalad, max hamburgers, shrimps, try to find some påskmust and enjoy some snus. Sounds like a healthy diet, huh?

Last Friday we went to a party and before the place got crowded I took the first picture, Johan took the second one and my friend Hugo took the picture of us together. We have so few pictures with us together, must do something about it :)

It was my birthday on Saturday. Johan surprised me with a wonderful egg benedict and champagne breakfast and in the afternoon I hosted a birthday fika for my friends <3
