A pink and green THANK YOU

Last night the sky was all pink and Johan was hanging out in the window admiring it. I am so thankful for him being there for me during my worst period in my life. Also I have a lot of friends who have been there for me, texting me in the morning to go out for coffee together which has meant so much. Thanks also to my family who I love so much. When I decided to start talking about my depression, it opened up so many stories from people around me and we could help and support eachother a lot. That's also why I decided to open up about it here on my blog the other day. I am so overwhelmed by the kind comments you people have left since then and I'm forever grateful, you helped me a lot, thank you! I hope I can help someone to feel less alone by knowing that we are many who feel pretty fucking bad from time to time. Personally I find strength in showing that I'm vulnerable and having the courage to talk about it. Better out than in as a friend says everytime she burps out loud.

Continuing eating a lot of green food. Today's lunch was steamed broccoli with feta cheese, olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper and tzatziki (which I make with greek yogurt, lots of garlic, cucumber, salt, olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar, usually I put some dill in it too but didn't have any at home).

Lots of love to all of you.

Green

Today's been all about green:
* Toast with asparagus, poached egg, sauce hollandaise, cucumber and cottage cheese for breakfast.
* Taking care of our plants.
* Spaghetti with wine and garlic marinated zucchini, olive oil, salt, pepper, basil & parmesan cheese for lunch.

I've lost myself completely while going through horrible personal things the past year, I guess it's been pretty clear by the lack of updates on my blog which used to be a place that made me happy, feel inspired and feel secure to open up about a few personal things now and then. Much of what has happened is because I haven't been able to say no to people (I learned at an early age that if I followed my own heart, someone else could get upset, so I ended up being an ultra pleaser). Last year I got involved with a very infectuous person who was talking badly about everyone around us and couldn't take no from me, which led to me taking care of solving things with her more than taking care of myself and also to see the world in a more negative way (I really learned things about myself from this and hope to never be in the same situation again). This, and some other things, led to a severe depression which I'm now trying to get well from.

So now I plan to take a lot of time for myself, it's going to be a struggle for me to say no to people who want to visit, but I am going under from not having enough time to focus on my own emotions, projects and to rest. I hope I will feel more inspired and less scared to post here again now that I've been open about some things that have been going on. Thank you for reading and for still coming by this place :)

10 days of May

Untitled
May - Summer is here and I slowly try to do things that used to make me happy, taking long walks in the mornings for example.

Untitled
It's hot, my friends laugh at me when I call this time of year Summer.

Untitled
Snuck into my favourite courtyard, 2nd picture is from the attic of my building.

Untitled
Complete happiness when friends invite you over for dinner and they serve oysters.

Untitled
The city is flirting with me.

Untitled
Yesterday Johan and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with a slow stroll around the neighbourhood and a very delicious (I'm being ironic now) pizza in a park :)

Untitled
No comment, except that my niece kind of forced me to learn how Snapchat works (it's the first time technical stuff made me feel old haha).

On Thursday I went to the pre-opening of the new foodmarket Kiez99 (where the Neue Heimat Foodmarket used to be, this time with free entry and much friendlier atmosphere) to celebrate the new logotype for The Bird Xberg which Johan has been working on. We spent the day with Mark, a very good friend and the king of The Bird. Also tried the Bibimbap from Son Kitchen - super tasty!

Today is the opening of Kiez99 and it will be open every Saturday and Sunday.
