Welcome to the greenhouse

I will continue with some more (plenty) Sweden pictures. Welcome to Johan's parents' greenhouse! It's one of my favourite places on this planet.


We arrived in their village outside of Örebro in the evening after a day in Stockholm.


The night before we came, Johan's mum had made a moussaka.


Some drinks to start our feast.

I love the look of the moussaka, a bit brutal.


Tzatziki and bread, I could eat it every day. I brought some pecorino cheese from Berlin, didn't get caught in the airport security (read this post if you wonder what I'm talking about).

What are you up to this week?
I'm busy making Wrist Worms, planning new projects & on Friday our Swedish brother from another mother will come visit us for some days. Will continue my Sweden stories this week as well, hope you enjoy :)

Preparing for Fall

I picked mushrooms with Johan and his grandparents in Sweden and we ate them several times. You wanna see some pictures of what I've been eating? ;)

I'm spending my day working and planning on do something with Johan later, we celebrate 12 years together today, amazing!

Cheese in Stockholm

After The Old Town, we took a walk back to Söder, where the car was parked.


Johan busy with a phone meeting. I love all the hills in Stockholm, Berlin is very very flat.


Found a concept that would work very well in Berlin ;) Tobacco shop and hairdresser in one.


Who are you without money? is a very good question.


Passed by a kindergarten and saw this beautiful Moomin house.


Now we're at the CHEESE SHOP I told you about before. Beautiful place with amazing cheese.


Johan and his mum tasting different ones, we took a few of them home (and they placed one of them in my luggage, which made airport security search my bag because something looked very suspicious - they had wrapped it in brown paper and plastic wrap, thank you very much).


Yum.

The Old Town, Stockholm

Stockholm's Old Town, read more about it here. I was hanging out here a lot as a teenager, hiding in alleys and reading books in churches.

Johan's mum said Let's see if we can find my favourite ice cream flavour, and we did! Saffron & honey, so tasty! Also, Johan & I went for salty licorice.


My favourite church tower in Stockholm, there are many of them.


Very colourful for being Sweden.


Books in windows make my heart jump.


The streets are super narrow and the light bounces in an extraordinary way.

The castle looked extra beautiful this time, with its fishnet stockings.


It was short and sweet. Was happy to reunite with this place.

Next up a few pictures from Söder again, before we head off to Örebro and its surroundings. Be prepared for a lot of food, as Johan's mum is my favourite cook :)

Having lunch in Stockholm

I went to Sweden for a week. Johan's parents picked us up at the airport and then we went into the city for some lunch at Barabao. The first picture I took was of course of the food. Sticky rice with salmon and stuff, was very tasty.


I was amazed by the light. Stockholm is so beautiful, and so clean.


All of the sudden my chin was on my lap. Johan was like Sandra, what is going on?! and I pointed at a shop across the street. A CHEESE shop. We went there later, will show you pictures.

We took a walk down to the Old Town, the most touristy place in Stockholm, where I hadn't been for many many years. Will show you pictures in the next blog post.

Arrived back in Berlin late last night and it feels really good to be back with so many good memories, so much love and a few kilos extra on my body. Sweden feels very special after so many years in another country, I see my old country with new eyes, it's very much like visiting an old friend who you don't know as well anymore.
