Johan and I already have a Sunday tradition, which I think we share with many people in this city - flea market and then brunch (today one of us has a sour throat and had whisky...). We took a walk around the neighbourhood and the architecture is so beautiful it hurts. I want to visit Russia.

From Friedrichshain to Kreuzberg to Mitte to Prenzlauer Berg to Friedrichshain

It took 8 hours, including a coffee & sandwich break at The Barn.

Die Sonne ist herzlich willkommen

The space between the windows is the temporary fridge, it works pretty well but it's soon time to buy a real one. Had coffee at No fire no glory and it was very tasty. You see an example of a new pair of Wrist Worms in the coffee pictures; cotton/linen vanilla white ones. I love them and think about keeping them for myself ;)

And another Berlin-related question:
This blog post took me 40 minutes to upload, there is no internet in my house so I can't use Alice-DSL or any other provider and must have a mobile internet connection. Which one is the best in Berlin? Right now I'm messing around with fon.com which has been a good solution to start with, but come on - 40 minutes for one blog post...

A day at home

This place starts to feel like home, although most of the time it feels like I'm just here on a visit because that's the way it has been every time I've been here before.

The light here is so different from Gothenburg, it feels so exotic. I have started working on the Spring 2011 collection of Wrist Worms, will list some new pairs in the shop in February.

Love to you all who've shared your opinions and tips about Steuerberater, Krankenversicherung and paint. It means so so much to me and you've been most helpful.

Walking around

Tomorrow I'll reply the questions you've had about my apartment (you can still ask if there's anything you want to know, I haven't had much time to respond to your questions recently) here.

Help needed from people who live in Berlin (use this e-mail form if you don't want to write in the comment field):

- I need to find a good Steuerberater/in, anyone who knows a good one (I need help filling in the papers for the Finanzamt to get my Steuernummer and later on for other economy stuff)? Someone who speaks English would be to prefer, since Johan wants him/her too.

- I (we) must fix a health insurance, what do you recommend?

- Have to buy a pretty huge amount of basic white paint for our apartment, the closest Baumarkt is Hellweg - anyone who has any other recommendation? We're not able to pay much, so cheap but good alternatives are preferred. Also preferred is a nice handy paint shop instead of the big Baumärkte.

Vielen vielen Dank!

Long lists

Sitting at Aunt Benny making long lists of things to do in the apartment. There are so many questions about our apartment spread out in the comments, maybe you could ask them again (in English please) in the comment field of this post and I'll do my best to write a post with answers tomorrow or Thursday? It's good to have everything in one place sometimes :)

Also, I've bought some new yarns for my new collection of Wrist Worms. The Swedish collection is on sale until sold out.

Sunday on Boxi

Hermann is the most charming dog. He made me and Johan laugh more than we've done in a long long time. Then he fell asleep between us and stayed under my duvet for the rest of the night.

A day with Hermann

Had brunch with Luise and Hermann this morning and now Hermann is staying at our place until tomorrow. Johan and I are having a great time together with him and his pig.

Glad to read so many excited comments about the ongoing change of our new apartment :)

The last I saw of Sweden

Sixteen days ago I got up very very early and my father drove me and Johan to the airport. We went from Luleå to Stockholm, from Stockholm to Copenhagen and from Copenhagen to Berlin. It took 10 hours and we were both so excited and also a bit frightened because we weren't sure that the apartment was really ours - the landlord hadn't received our contract yet. It was a strange feeling to pack together our home in Gothenburg before Christmas and then be away for 2 weeks and go to Berlin straight from my parents.

Oh Sweden, I wonder when we will see eachother again. I've always wanted to know what I would miss if I left Sweden. Now I will know :) I already know one thing and it wasn't unexpected: the selection of candy.

Wrist Worms Sale

Not many pairs of Wrist Worms left in the shop (sale - USD 10 off) now. And only one Buttcrack Character. Welcome! :)
