Welcome to Berlin Winter Wonderland
This city dresses so well in snow. All colours pop up in the best way. Before I moved here I for some reason visited almost only in winter time so of course winter here is quite special. Looking forward to have a day off strolling around visiting cafés I haven't yet been to. Hopefully on Saturday, I'll bring my camera.
This year I look forward to something special, spending time with this lady everyday-life-style again for three months - see you :)
Books, figurines & pasta
I grew up in a home with very few books and I remember visiting my friend Maria's home I was so inspired by her parents having a bookshelf with actual books in it and not porcelain figurines.
During winter I sleep wearing Wrist Worms, it's important to keep the wrists warm during night when I crochet all day long.
When I was 13 I started to buy my own books. The porcelain elephant was a gift from Johan on my birthday last year. Of course I still need some porcelain figurines in my life.
I made this lunch the other day, it was hard to take an appetizing picture though, but I assure you it was delicious.
You need (for 2 persons):
Rigatoni Napoletani or any other pasta you prefer.
1.5 tbsp olive oil
1.5 tbsp butter
sage
14-20 cherry tomatoes
chili (fresh or dried)
2 garlic cloves
Parmesan cheese (I didn't have any at home, so I used 50 grams of this amazing creamy French cheese, highly recommended too)
salt & pepper
I did like this:
Boil the pasta al dente (follow instruction on package).
Heat up oil in a pan and fry the cherry tomatoes until juice starts to mix with the oil. Chop the garlic cloves in small pieces and let them simmer around in the pan with the other stuff (do NOT burn), add sage, chili and butter as well. When pasta is finished, pour it down in the sauce and add salt & pepper. Serve everything on your favourite plates and add cheese of choice on top. If you have some fresh herbs, add them on top of everything to make it more beautiful :) Eat!

Artwork by nature
This weekend nature decided to decorate my windows and wake me up to stunning artwork. Thanks for that.

January 21, 2006-2014
January 21, 2006: Don't remember much from that day, but I'm happy I documented my favourite sheets ever (xmas present from my parents early 1990's).
January 21, 2007: I made mini buttcrack characters, this one is still a favourite. I will make more of these (a little bigger ones) soon.
January 21, 2008: Was knitting a hat for Johan, softest most amazing yarn ever.
January 21, 2009: Me with short hair, I liked this haircut a lot.
January 21, 2010: Having tea and blood orange in my Gothenburg studio.
January 21, 2011: Throwing out shit from our apartment.
January 21, 2012: A random wall just because I loved the colour combo.
January 21, 2013: Taking a walk around the neighbourhood, sneaking into courtyards.
January 21, 2014: This morning Johan and I celebrated the first snow with sandwiches on a bench.

Weekend greetings
I'm being entertained by a nasty cold this weekend, everyone around me have been pretty sick lately so I've just been waiting for it. Luckily it's not nasty enough; I have managed to both go to the market (to have coffee, check out oil with freckles from the cold + people + dogs, buy eggs, buy tulips etc) and to visit a café for a flat white. Other than that - bed (reading a book), sofa (working). Hope you're having a good weekend without sickness :)

In Kreuzberg & Mitte
Some moments from yesterday when I was running errands, having 2nd breakfast, picking up the latest issue of Gather Journal (my favourite food magazine, thank you so much Lena for introducing it to me last year), paying one of my favourite stores a visit and taking pictures of favourite buildings and details.
