Most important for me to survive winter and the darkness is to take a walk when it's light outside. Pictures above are from a day when I almost forgot and rushed out right before the sun had set. Another thing I do is make soups with lots of vegetables, cayenne and cream. Going to make one later today and feed someone who's sick :)
Came in to a sun-drenched studio this morning. Made coffee and started experimenting with different crochet stitches and made a pair of BW slippers. They are available in the shop together with several other new pairs of slippers.
Friday has just started and I already feel the weekend in my body.
Any plans for the weekend?
I'm gonna make soup, visit the farmers market, take care of our home, make a ricepudding brunch on Sunday, hopefully read some. Closing myself in a lot these days; my body and mind need to recharge after being extremly social the past couple of years (though my blog seems to show a pretty lonely life I think).
I went back in the archives of my blog to see if I could find some new/old inspiration and got inspired by this 4 years old post. I like black & white mess.
I spend very little time on preparing my lunches. Sometimes no time at all, because I have leftovers from the night before. Night time, on the other hand, I put much more effort into my cooking.
Above are two super simple lunches.
Number 1: Lamb's lettuce with red onion, cucumber, feta cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, salt & black pepper.
Number 2: Scrambled eggs with blue cheese, kalamata olives & parsley.
5 years ago there weren't many places for really good coffee in Friedrichshain. Well, there was one - Tres Cabezas (still going strong). The past couple of years several new places have opened and my favourites are Happy Baristas (latest addition to the neighbourhood), Silo Coffee, Coffee Profilers, Shakespeare & Sons, Passenger Espresso (Saturdays at Boxi) & still Tres Cabezas.
